Horse Portrait on Wood, Horse Painting, Daily Painting, Horse Giclee Print

I originally painted this piece for a licensing company in Scotland.  That was several years ago.

The original oil painting was sold to a client in London.  An "International Horse"!

Recently, this giclee print on wood panels has been chosen as set design for a new Netflix series named SOUTHERN COMFORT, which takes place on a ranch.

How exciting!!  I don't know, at this time, when the series will be released, but, I will let you know when (and if) I am told.

Mooooo, Oil Painting of Cow, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Palette Knife Painting,

A client wanted a cow painting, for licensing purposes.  I usually do daily painting of still life or landscape, but I have to admit I enjoyed both the horse, they originally chose,  and this cow painting.

I painted on Senso linen canvas.  I had a pad of the linen around for several years but didn't really know what to do with it.  I found it had a different texture than the cotton canvas I usually paint on, but once I got into the painting, it was fine.

My next problem was what to do with this unstretched painting.  After surveying several friends, I mounted it on a cradled wood panel.  I was told the perfect glue to use is YES GLUE available at craft stores.  I had some in my stash and I have to say it worked like a charm.  Then I trimmed the edges with a exacto knife and it turned out perfectly.  Now I can use the rest of my Senso linen canvas with no fear!

So, today I stretched my limits, both with the Senso canvas and the cow painting, and luckily both worked out for me!

This is a re-post, and the cow has been sold.  However, if you are interested, giclee prints are available on canvas and wood planks, in the size of your choice.  Contact me for pricing.

Pet Portrait, Dog Painting, Small Oil Paint, Daily Painting, 6x8" Oil Painting SOLD

Several months ago, I did a post consisting of dogs I have painted over the years.  The post generated a new commission from a high school friend who follows my blog.

SOLD
She sent me several images, but this was her favorite.  I had admired this image on facebook.  It was a picture of her, with her pup on her lap, both of them staring intensely into the camera.

Sadly, this sweet dog is no longer with us.  My friend was so affected by the painting, she cried when she saw it.  I was affected by her response and got a little teary eyed too.
